PERICLES STIVAROS, Ph.D., P.E. Vice -President
Dr. Stivaros has been a Vice-President
of the firm since 2005, and with the firm since
1988; he was made an Associate in 1997. He is in
charge of the Testing and Monitoring Department
of the firm, and is responsible for developing
testing and monitoring programs for distressed
structures; testing and monitoring services
encompass a wide range of testing methods
including foundation settlement monitoring,
impact-echo testing of concrete structures,
ground penetrating, radar testing, vibrations, ultrasonic tests, in-situ stresses, flat jack
masonry testing, and other destructive and non
destructive testing methods.
Dr. Stivaros professional experience
includes structural analysis and design of
building systems, failure investigation and
reports, distress analysis, condition surveys,
and structural evaluation and rehabilitation of
buildings and other structures. Major projects
include reinforced concrete and steel buildings,
pre-engineered steel structures, parking
garages, bridges, environmental structures, and
building facade investigation.
Dr. Stivaros is an adjunct professor of
structural engineering; he has authored several
publications on the shoring/reshoring operations
during construction, and concrete testing and
evaluation. He is
the chairman of ACI Committee 347 on Formwork for
Concrete, a member of Committee 350 on
Environmental Engineering Concrete Structures,
a member of TAC Tolerance Coordinating Committee and a member of Committee 362 on Parking
Structures. He is the principal author of the ACI publication "Guide for
Shoring/Reshoring of Concrete Multistory
Buildings."
Dr. Stivaros is a registered professional
engineer in New York State and Connecticut. He
holds a Doctoral degree and a Master’s degree
from West Virginia University, and a Civil
Engineering degree from HTI, Cyprus. |
