Hartford Coliseum,
Hartford, CT
The space truss
roof structure of the stadium
collapsed under snow and ice
loads. FKC investigated the
design and construction of the
steel space structure and
determined the load carrying
capacity of the roof space
trusses. An engineering report
with findings, conclusions and
recommendations was issued. |

L' Ambiance Plaza, Bridgeport, CT
This tragic
collapse caused the life of 28 workers. The post-tensioned
lift slab structure collapsed during construction.
FKC investigated the post-tension slab system and the
superjacks that were used in the slab lifting operations.
An engineering report with findings, conclusions and
recommendations was issued. |

Feesers, Harrisburg, PA
The structural steel
pre-engineered structure collapsed under
snow and ice loads. The construction of
the structure consisted of "Z" purlins,
standing seam metal deck, and structural
steel frames. FKC was retained to
investigate the causes for the collapse
and issued an engineering report. |

Queensboro Bridge, New York City, NY
A 16x106-ft
metal scaffold platform that was used for the
rehabilitation of the Queensboro bridge collapsed and fell
into the East River taking the life of one worker. FKC
investigated the structural system of the steel truss
platform and the construction loads. An engineering
report with findings, conclusions and recommendations was
issued.

One Meridian Plaza, Philadelphia, PA
A 39-story
steel frame office building suffered an extensive fire
damage. Ten stories in the upper half of the structure
became unstable. FKC performed condition surveys, tested
and evaluated the strength of the building frame and
components. Based on the results of the strength
evaluation, FKC designed temporary shoring and bracing for
the compromised structure, and designed several alternates
for the repairs. |
