This reinforced concrete water treatment plant facility was constructed circa 1920. FKC investigated the structural condition of the reinforced concrete roof slabs, spandrel beams, and columns. FKC performed a condition survey, testing of the concrete members, and half-cell testing of reinforcing steel to detect corrosion activity. Impact-Echo testing revealed that approximately 70% of the concrete oof slab area contained numerous microcracks. Concrete cores verified the presence of microcracks and poor bond between the coarse aggregates and the cement paste. Petrographic examination of concrete cores was performed. FKC recommended several rehabilitation alternates.
