The reinforced concrete roof slab of this 120 ft diameter water tank exhibited extensive cracking and concrete spalling. FKC investigated the structural integrity of the concrete slab. Impact-Echo testing revealed that over 50% to 60% of the concrete slab areas were delaminated. Concrete cores verified the extent of slab delamination. Laboratory tests indicated low concrete strength and sulfate attack, and evidence of alkali silica reaction. An engineering report with findings, conclusions and recommendations was issued.
