The bottom portions of the glue-laminated timber-arch columns were severely damaged and rotted, but the damage was concealed behind the architectural finishes. FKC designed temporary shoring and bracing, which were immediately erected in timefor the facility to remain open during the upcoming religious holidays. FKC performed condition survey of the arches, including visual and boroscope observations. The fiber-optic boroscope device enabled us to examine the damaged timber cavities from the inside. Laboratory testing of wood samples was performed. Based on the results of the investigation, FKC designed repairs to the structure and performed construction administration services.
